shaft Fit to Spherical Roller bearing

shaft Fit to Spherical Roller bearing

shaft Fit to Spherical Roller bearing

Bearing Replacement:

Two split block bearing use for Force Draft Fan

measuring shaft OD = 69.97 mm
spherical roller bearing 22214E/C3 use on Split Roller bearing.

what is the clearance between the shaft and Inner race for Spherical Roller bearing?

RE: shaft Fit to Spherical Roller bearing

If the 70mm shaft is rotating, it should be a shrink fit to the bearing inner race or else it will rattle around and wear the shaft.

69.97mm sounds like a worn shaft. Maybe you can get away with a line-to-line fit and very tight axial compression with a locknut.

RE: shaft Fit to Spherical Roller bearing

The manufacturer's website should have that information. If it happens to be an SKF bearing, poking around here or here should give you the info that you need.

RE: shaft Fit to Spherical Roller bearing

As others said, NO clearance based on your description of your application.

What is the part number of the bearing stamped or etched on the face of one of the bearing races/inner rings?

Your attached image shows a taper bore bearing with a tapered adapter.
Depending on manufacturer, that style might have a "K" in the part number.

RE: shaft Fit to Spherical Roller bearing

Actually , the bearing install on shaft without sleeve.

Bearing type: spherical roller bearing
Bearing No. 22214E/C3

My question about diameter shaft what is min/max to be tight fit with bearing?

I attached similar picture of split bearing but it’s without adapter beqring directly install on shaft.

Q2- how to inspect bearing housing?

Q3- how to determine life of spherical roller bearing to avoid any breakdown?

Q4- what do you think the reason for worn shaft and bearing inner race found loose?
The issue happened 10 days after preventive maintenance performed ( oil changed) vibration and noise observed.

Q5- what is the best method to repair shaft ? If the shaft reduce 0.2 mm

RE: shaft Fit to Spherical Roller bearing

Q1 and Q3 reference bearing manufactures manuals etc

Q2 Use Machinist measuring tools micrometers or Plastigauge / SKF or other bearing suppliers will list housing dimensions

Q4 Without details pictures etc, It could be anything.

Q5 Options: New shaft use adapter sleeves or Belzona ( use and opinions very / personally I don't care for it) There are other options, but this is what I thought of first.
