SS silos for raw material storage thickness confirmation

SS silos for raw material storage thickness confirmation

SS silos for raw material storage thickness confirmation

(OP)
Hi;
i am planning to make silos in tile manufacturing plant to store raw materiel (silica sand high iron grade).
the length of solos will be 10000mm with diameter of 3200mm in SS304 materiel sheet/roll which ever is available
now the question is thickness of sheet is it sufficient to use for 3mm thickness for lower portion of silos and 2mm thickness for upper portion where as i have to keep 80 metric ton of sand in silos or should i enhance thickness and if yes then what is best thickness to use
regards

RE: SS silos for raw material storage thickness confirmation

Is this the first silo that you have ever designed ?

Are you a new graduate from technical school ?

That sounds thin.
It sounds like you need to fins some books on silo design, or hire a professional in that that field.
These days most SS silos are built using lean duplex alloys (2101 or 2202) because it is so much stronger that you can reduce thickness.

HALLLOOOO ???

Are you still there ????

These people will supply complete silica sand storage systems ...

Stainless may be an expensive choice for the silo walls...

Usually, material handling equipment (such as conveyors)are integrated into a complete installation

Perhaps you have lost interest in this thread .... and are just ignoring everyone

yes i am here
i need to make in SS only to avoid contamination with desired material
Yes,the first design in my experience not completed my study in 2015
plant where silos need to make is porcelain tile making
