Contacting AASHTO

Contacting AASHTO

Contacting AASHTO

(OP)
Hi all,

Is there anyway to contact AASHTO for clarification on code articles? In the introduction of the 8th edition, an address is provided to write inquiries to AASHTO, but I am surprised an email address is not provided. For example AISC has their "solutions center" in which you can contact AISC on the intent of a particular code provision. I would think AASHTO would have something similar.

NOTE: I wrote to AASHTO months ago via snail mail and have not heard back from them.

Thanks in advance,

RE: Contacting AASHTO

They only give an email address as info@aashto.org. Two suggestions:
Contact your state DOT AASHTO rep, which could be as useful (or useless)as sending an inquiry to AASHTO; or if you can emsil AASHTO for the technical committee contact info for the particular section in question.

Thanks, some good food for thought.

RE: Contacting AASHTO

Here's a link to the various committees. They do provide email addresses for the members.

Appreciate it. I'll give that a try and seem if I come back with anything.

Good luck

Just following up on this post. I contacted T-5, The Loads and Load Distribution Committee, and I did receive a response.

Thanks Bridgebuster

RE: Contacting AASHTO

Glad it worked out
