Hi, I'm looking for some help with interpreting a vibration/shock specification. It is listed as "5Grms, 1000x50g". I understand the 5grms but not sure what the 1000x50g means. Can anyone help explain?

5-g rms has to be a random vibe, so the remainder should be the shock spec, which I would read to mean 1000 50-g shocks, which sounds like a weapon spec.

So that means 1000 impacts at 50g's?

That's what I would think. 50g is certainly consistent with a shock. The only question I would have is why "G" is used in one place and "g" in the other.

If that second part is the shock spec shouldn't there also be a shock time and profile referenced (i.e. sawtooth, sinusoidal)?
