Amada FO4020 6000W Z-axis Tracing

Just had this machine installed, and I've been operating it for about two weeks. I think I have a HS2000 fanuc control. I have calibrated the z axis with and without trace on. New nozzle, I have an external z axis sensor cable. It's not touching the cone, amd neither is the air line. Calibration works great, but when cutting a part it finds a good initial position and then the z axis stops tracing, and cuts with the nozzle being a good half inch above the sheet. Any ideas, or do Injust need a replacement cone?

If you have another cone you can replace it and see what happens. Does this happens on all materials and thickneses?
Once, l had problem with material while piercing. One pierce good, next half inch above. Waterial was a problem in my case.

I only have one normal cone and one cone for water assistance. We just had this machine installed. Is there a screen to check my trace settings?

We bought this laser to cut thicker plate, so I haven't had any issues with .500 and thicker. But now I'm cutting some old .250 316 stainless and the middle has bowed from the heat. The head finds the correct initial position but it just won't trace after the pierce.

Changed my pierce type from 101 to 103 and now it's tracing correctly.
