Abaqus 2017 start-up error

Abaqus 2017 start-up error

Hello ladies and gents,

To be honest you guys are my last hope. I installed ABAQUS 2017 (student version) around 10 times already, without any success. My co-students nor professor knows what's wrong with the installation.

Every time I run the Abaqus CAE shortcut, I get the CMD-window saying:

Abaqus Error: Abaqus/CAE Kernel exited with an error.
Press any key to continue . . .

I have no idea where the error comes from, other forums did not provide any solutions either.

I run Windows 10 on a Dell XPS 9560. If you require any output files, I'm happy to provide them because I cannot find what the error is.

Thank you in advance,
