Hi guys,

This is kind of a stupid question.

I've been given range of piping NPS from 1,000 inch to 42,000 inch. In which then translated to NPS 1" to 42".

So, why should you go with extra zeros at the back? If you going with precision, then it doesn't reflect any to the NPS range.

I've asked the client which eventually send me a piping spec from Lurgi.

Just a curious question.

Thanks

Well in small sizes it does go up in 1/8" - 0.125 as a NPS,

A case where extra zeros don't add to the accuracy....

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

As an addition, NPS is an identification of whole numbers, and few cases 1 or 2 numbers after the decimal (NPS 2.5", NPS 1.25"). The real OD of NPS, in inch, is different and often expressed in 3 digits, especially up to NPS 10"; Maybe someone mixed these 2 things up.
