Cutting head connection while machine hovers after edge detection??

(OP)
keep getting cutting head connection on Amada FO-3015 after the edge detection. It raises up and starts to travel then freezes and says cutting head connection. anyone have any idea where to start?

We already had new z trace wires ran in June and now running on external z sensor cable and that has held up fine until this morning.

Thanks

RE: Cutting head connection while machine hovers after edge detection??

I would replace the plug on the cone that the sensor wire plugs into that is the problem we have. The sensor wire will jiggle as the head travels and once the wire brakes connection you will get that alarm. Check and see if the small pin in the plug broke off and is stuck inside the sensor wire because if it did you will need to replace both. Now if the head while moving down toward the material just stops and starts moving up your cone is bad.

Right on i will check it as soon as the current run is finished. It is running ok if i leave the traverse speed at 50%.
