Repair can mean removing the nonconforming portion of a weld, confirming that it has been removed and replacing the removed portion with weld metal and then confirming the repaired weld is sound. Cut out and Replace means just that; the complete, nonconforming weld is fully removed, the weld bevels reestablished and completely welded anew.
