GE Multilin Low Speed Performance

Hi friends ,

I have a problem about GE Mulitlin UR relays.I can communicate with realy successfully, but when i try to save any set change ,it takes so long time....and Writing to device is taking more than an hour time.

what can be the problem ?_

Thank you.

RE: GE Multilin Low Speed Performance

rayas91,
Check your software for the relay. If I remember correctly ge changed a lot of the UR programs. That happen to be the answer that ge give me about 20 years ago.
Hope this helps,
Dave

RE: GE Multilin Low Speed Performance

If you're going through the front panel serial port, it IS slow. I call it GE's built-in coffee break.

I find it worth the effort to use the Ethernet ports on the rear, either through our relaying network or through an Ethernet crossover cable. doing this greatly boosts speeds for any computer to relay operation.

RE: GE Multilin Low Speed Performance

We did not have very many UR relays and replaced all of them with SEL relays no later than 6 years ago.
