Design & operation of runflat systems

(OP)
I am with a company that designs and manufacturers devices that fit inside standard tyres and wheels to permit the driver to continue with one or more tyres damaged. They operate best if fitted to 2-piece take-apart wheels.  We are looking for manufacturers of steel, alloy and titanium take aparty wheels in 16 and 20" diameters.  I would also like to exchange views on what is desirable and achievable in present runflat technology.

Oscar

You're no doubt aware of Hutchinson who are the market leaders in Europe for military runflats. I've been in UK military vehicle engineering since 1975 and nobody has come up with better systems. (I have no personal or commercial invlovement with Hutchinson).

But I'd be interested in any company that comes up with something better / cheaper / lighter.

Cheers - John

I would appreciate it if somebody could supply me with the contact details of I.A.D., or any other suppliers of Hutchinson Run Flats in south Africa.

Oscar,
I am with a company in South Africa who is the HUTCHINSON agent for all the SADC countries.
We have access to locally manufactured split rims for these devices.
We can also suopply locally produced Drop Centre rims.
Interested?
