How to clean up burr or rough API BTC thread

How to clean up burr or rough API BTC thread

(OP)
I there a brush that can be used safely to remove small burrs on the thread form of a BTC thread. Possibly use some 125 Emory to knock down the burr and a polishing wheel with pneumatic grinder to tun around the root or crest of thread to keep surface smooth.

We can't see, to make-up a BTC by hand to 300 ft-lbf torque without causing some damage.

We use API modified pipe dope but have been using a bottle brush to apply. We have ordered moustache brushes to apply thread compound in the future. We also apply small amount of PTFe tape to help create seal.

Another issue is we don't have place to apply wrench to thread except directly over connection.

I was thinking
1)Vise on tool
2)get roller stand and and align test plug with BTC connection
3)Apply dope with moustache brushes
4)torque connection hand tight.
5) flip so Test plug is is a chain vise with full 360 contact.
6. Torque to final with roller stand alignened at end so no side load is applied.
7. Pressure Test.

Any advice?
Would xylan coating on test cap be an option ot a hard fac coating that won't crack in root corners?

RE: How to clean up burr or rough API BTC thread

PTFE works with about 500 ft-lbf torque. Just need to keep pipe dope clean.

Would like it is someone knew where there were pics of acceptable vs. unacceptable API Casing Threads. If you clean a knick up and can make up go gauge are you OK? It is difficult to make calls on API pipe threads because Usually it is a minor flaw in crest that can be polished over and molysprayed. I know it will pressure test with PTFE tape but not if just using pipe dope and making up to triangle.

Any links to helpful sites would be appreciated.
