difference between autocad and draftsight

difference between autocad and draftsight

difference between autocad and draftsight

a newbie still to the world of cad. I have used autocad for some time now ( still learning ) and decided to try draftsightfor it is free and the GUI is pretty easy to use. The one diffence for example to draw a simple line in autocad you have where one can type in the length and angle of line not using command line in draftsight i have not been able to figure out how to do this.

any help would be appreciated

RE: difference between autocad and draftsight

Greetings laik

Thanks for the help would like to upload pciture of what i mean but i have not found outhow as of yet

thans again

RE: difference between autocad and draftsight

Manuel, I don't understand the issue you are having. Entering a line with the keyboard works the same in DraftSight as it does in AutoCad. I think I remember that you have to select the option to display the command line. It seems like I recall doing that.

RE: difference between autocad and draftsight

That is a pointer option in AutoCad, or more specifically a coordinate entry option. I don't remember what it is called exactly or how to turn it ON/OFF. I think it came out with AutoCad 2007 or 2008. It was definitely on 2010. I don't think DraftSight has that option.

RE: difference between autocad and draftsight

It is called "Dynamic Input". I've never looked for it in DraftSight. I doubt it is an option.
