Hi every one,
Can any body tell me about their experience with applying prestress force or defining cable in a girder. How it is helpful in the real world problem. What i do in bridge design is to analyze the superstructure defined by girders and deck slab, ie using a grillage model. The efforts are then utilized to calculate the number of cables etc etc. How prestress force option can help me in increasing my design speed. One thing that pops up is by checking the stresses as per applicable code.
