6082-T6 aluminium threads

Has anyone had problems with machine threaded Aluminium galling, even on a coarse thread e.g 2 5/8-12 ? If so can it be prevented?

Aluminium alloys are susceptible to galling. The solution to this problem is to coat/lubricate the surfaces. An example would be a dry-film PTFE.
