FEA computing cluster?

FEA computing cluster?

FEA computing cluster?

(OP)
My office is in the process of upgrading to new engineering workstations and the old workstations will be recycled for another purpose. We have 4-5 workstations that are only a few years old, so I was thinking of converting them into a cluster for FEA work.

Has anyone ever done this before? Is it worth the time to setup?

RE: FEA computing cluster?

Might be easier to spend $2K on a 1U small box quad-core server with 8-16G of memory and use that for your FEA stuff. No graphics card, just compute power. Add a second processor if you have high CPU usage.
