I'm planning to use an off the shelf pressure compensator (from Sub-Atlantic, Tecnadyne or similar) to bring the pressure in an oil filled cavity 0.5 bar higher than the seawater pressure on the other side of a seal.

Can anyone advise of the likely failure modes of such a spring based pressure compensator?

Cheers

James.

A mere half a bar differential may not be enough to energize some types of seal.
