I own a 1990 Honda Accord.  Heres my problem, When I turn I get a loud clicking noise, especially if I press down on the gas.  I was wodering what the problem was and how much it would be to fix it.

RE: Front End Clicking

Sound like CV joints are going bad.

How much would it cost to get it replaced and fixed? anyone know?  Thanx for the reply.

RE: Front End Clicking

To have the dealer do both sides could be as much as $800 all included.

A car-x or similar shop would probably do the job for less.

I've done the job (both sides) for as little as $140+pizza+beer (all included)...  it all depends on how handy you and/or your friends are with a wrench.

RE: Front End Clicking

A good bet is to purchased remanufactured axle half shafts.  They cost a little more, but installation is far easier than working on the actual CV joints.  Probably my ages showing agian, but I prefer 'plug and play" to the adventure. If you are careful to support the car and only take apart one side at a time, most handy mechanics can do this.  You will need to pay for an alignment afterwards if you disconnect the struts to gain access to the axles.

Yeah, that's what the prices I was guessing at were for - replacement of the axle shaft assys.
