How to increase the life of piston seal that are used in pneumatic and hydaulic cylinder?

RE: hydraulic and pneumatic

If cylenders are off the shelf, the best is use clean air or oil.

RE: hydraulic and pneumatic

Make sure the incoming air/oil is as free of contamination as possible.  You can do this be using a filter set up in both the hydraulic and pneumatic systems.  In the pneumatic system, depending on the need for a clean environment, you can also use a lubricator.

RE: hydraulic and pneumatic

Minimize side loading of the rod also.
