PMP-Project Management Profession.My Friend is basically a mechanical engineer,now for past 11/2 years he is working as a Estimation engineer it is basically manfacturing company,before its experience in production,now he is intersted to study PMP course,its project experience is total 1.5 yrs, before production only, so my question is right time to study PMP course at this time, or some more time need to gain project experience and then study,my basic question is what is the use of study this course,what is the value and job oppotunity,carrier scope,what kind of job we can get by the study of course, he is interested to study this course in chennai,what is the best institute to study.so please advise for the following subject.

Why doesn't he ask?
You should look for a course in your mother tongue. One in english might prove challenging.
Wherever is closer to home is probably the best place to study it. You should look for references on the school from graduates.

I gave up my PMP as being almost worthless.  My previous company wanted us to get it so they brought in a teacher for the two day training.  The test was taken by each of us when we could schedule it.  The test is about 75% vocabulary, 10% formula, and 15% random stuff from the PIMBOK.

Then after getting the PMP, the maitenance is more intensive than my PE.
