Fanuc Turbo blower

Fanuc Turbo blower

Fanuc Turbo blower

Hi Everyone

I have a Amada alpha 3 4000 watt laser with a Fanuc Resonator. Now my turboblower is reaching the 12000 hours. Does anyone know if you can use the turbo blower for a longer period then the 12000 hours fanuc recommends.

Question 2

My mirrors from the resonator are now 4500 hours active and my power offset coefficient is steady at 1025 or 1032. Most of the time you can see with these values if mirrors needs to be replaced or cleaned, above 1150 yes below no. Now i have these steady values because everymorning when i power up my laser I do autoaging that is a function to remove deteriorated lasergas and fill the tubes with clean gas. Does anyone know if this has any positive or negative effect on the turboblower.

Use IV-II MP-5 coated lenses they are the best for thick materials mild steel or stainless steel it doesn`t matter.

RE: Fanuc Turbo blower

You should definitively replace your turbo blower ASAP.  You can run it for a  bit longer but if it fails you will be in a world of trouble because it will cost you a lot more.

In regards to your resonator mirrors they usually have a life of about 4000 Hours at which point Amada usually recommends you to replace them but if cut quality has not deteriorated or you're not going through lenses due to prefocusing (bad optics).

I don't think the auto-aging function will harm the turbo blower.  Besides, auto-aging is only for when the machine sits for a long time (long weekends).

Yes, MP-5 coated lenses do work extremely well.

RE: Fanuc Turbo blower

Our resonator (4kw fanuc) is now over 15k hours with original turbo blower and vac pump.  The problem is that you will not get any money back from exchanging the pump.  Our machine is due for replacing the two items mentioned above, plus all the mirrors (standard to replace the mirrors a few weeks after replacing the blower/pump).  Total cost will likely be around $40k

All mirrors were replaced around 8k hrs.  Current coef. is around 1058.  Our primary tech has suggested at this point to just keep running until the blower fails as he has never seen it cause any significant damage.
