I am new to the magnetics world, but working on a solenoid and want to know what type of equipment is used to generate B-H Curves. Also, who would be a leading supplier of that equipment and the estimated cost. The solenoid requires a little more (10%) pull-in force midway through its travel and I am considering a full anneal of the armature and pole piece, but I need a baseline of the existing parts as they are today. The pole is 1018 and the armature is 12L14 Steel.

You do not need much to record an AC hysterisis curve. I have used a low voltage AC source (adjustable transformer) and an oscilloscope with integrating function. The TiePie HS4, for instance, has a very flexible set of "functions" that can be used for almost any measurement.

The attached picture shows measurements on a toroid made from ferrite. The saturation flux can be easily calculated from the results. As can many other properties.
