I have seen a two storey house with a hipped roof.There are horizontal cracks at the head of the upstairs windows, and travelling around the gables at the same level. The cracks are much more apparent on the inner leaf than the outer leaf. I feel that the hip roof may not be correctly braced and hence is pushing the walls out. The house in concrete block inner and outer leaf and is two years old. Any comments ?
