I am looking for a method, or spec that will help me very roughly determine the bending stress/strain in an SCR during s-lay installation.

Just assume the pipe has no moment carrying capacity and takes the shape of a catenary curve from the end of the stinger to the touchdown point will give a rough estimate of the tension forces involved.
