Hi all,

I am working on simulation of Hip Bone implant using abaqus cae.I have the bone and the implant.I have to make a cavity in bone which has the shape of implant.in simple words,I have model A and model B,I have to make cavity in A which has the shape of B(outer shape of B)in abaqus cae.

It would be really helpful if you acn share your experience or advices on the same.

Looking forward for your reply

Create A and B as two parts. Assembly them. Now do a Instance-Merge/Cut to remove B from A.

You will now have a new part C.

can I assemble part A and part B though B goes inside a and A doesnt have cavity yet?I am sorry if this question sounds stupid, but I admit that I just started using Abaqus tool.

Yes, B will overlap A when first assembled. The Point is that the boolean operation can be used to "cut" B from A, leaving a new part.
