Saving COMPRESS reports to PDF files

Saving COMPRESS reports to PDF files

Saving COMPRESS reports to PDF files

(OP)
Here's a tip or two. COMPRESS provides option to save the calculation reports to PDF files without requiring additional software. The complete set of reports can be saved to a single PDF file, or a selected set of reports can be "printed" to a single PDF file.

COMPRESS build 6247 and later provide option to save the entire COMPRESS calculation report to a single PDF file without any additional software. To save the report:  Run the Code calculations, select the File menu, select the "Save Report As" command. Save the report to the PDF file.

COMPRESS build 6252 provides option to save selected reports to a single PDF file without any additional software. This allows the saved report to be customized with selected reports only, just as may be done when printing the report to hardware printer. To select and save the reports:  Select Action menu, select Reports command. Select "Customize PDF" report command from the pop up menu. A new dialog will be displayed that is similar to the Print Report dialog. Select the reports to be saved to PDF file and place them in the desired sequence in the Print List on the Customize PDF Report dialog, then click the "Generate" button to generate the custom report view. Select the "Save a Copy" command in the report view to save the file.

RE: Saving COMPRESS reports to PDF files

Tom -- We have COMPRESS build 6252.  I attempt to save a report as a PDF, but get an error message that we need to install Acrobat Reader.  I have Acrobat 7.0 installed and would rather not install Reader.  Any advice?  Jeff Lester

Jeff,

COMPRESS uses software from another published (not Adobe) to generate the pdf files. On some systems installing the full version of Acrobat may "break" the entries in the Windows system registry that track what application is to be associated with the "pdf" file extension. The only way to correct this is to install the Reader. See http://www.codeware.com/support/faq/1139.html

By the way, I have edited your post to remove your telephone number, just a precaution.
