my project was 64 days long. however i have changed some task durations but the software has not calculated a new project duration. how do i do this?

Unless the tasks are linked so that the overall duration is increased, there would be no increase in duration

Then the critical path isn't affected by your alterations.

Make sure you have auto-calculate turned on.  Hit F9 to calculate if it isn't.
