Modifying Legend

Greetings to all,
Does anynoe know how to remove items from the legend that do not appear in the project.

Example: My legend displays "External tasks" I do not have any external tasks for this project and would like to remove the descriptor for "External tasks"

MS Project 2003

Go to format, bar styles and omit the external task
