Magnetic Braking

Howdy:

I work for a small company that is going to start working on a magnetic braking system for a small ride we have operating a an family fun center.  My question is which type of magnets should we consider for this paticular application?  Are there suppiers that you would recomend for the materials?
Thanks in advance.

RE: Magnetic Braking

The problem you raise is not as simple as you seem to think, though it is indeed a very good solution for rides.
I may be able to help on this matter, up to designing and supplying the brakes for your ride.
However you should give more details on what really you intend to do, what is your engineering background, and, if interested in receiving proposals, identify yourself by replying to my address below.

Dear Prex:
Thanks for the reply.  I realize the complexities of the problem, strength of the materials and distance to the induction plate and so on and so forth.  I have however gotten some help on the solution from a sister company of mine that uses the system on their rollercoasters.  Thank you and as we get further I will be in contact.

Cheers,

Emo
