RE: Laser Cutting Quoting Software

Hi can you give me more information on what you are looking for?

Most CAD/CAM software can do simple profile calcs, some will also derive a time based on autotooling the profile. I'd check your CAM system first it may do all of what you need.

In the past I've tended to use simple spreadsheet/worksheets for laser quoting in the past, I'm in the process of writing a utility to calculate profiles lengths and number of pierces from a DXF file and intend to try and combine the two (using openoffice.org not MS office).

We are thinking about FastCAM Quoter which is a good software program although not specifically for laser cutting it is very quick at nesting a quantity of parts
from dxf or it's own flexi shape library, calculating cut/
pierce time with assit gases as a unit cost per minute or metre.

The only other software we have found is Instant Quote
from LMC Laser this software imports a dxf prenested
and then caculates costs inc gas usage very accurately. not quite as good but only costs $400 approx.

Does anyone know of any alternatives ?
