I am experiencing a strange problem. When I use the zoom command I am immediately forced into zoom window. I need to have the option to zoom "realtime" but I can't get to command to use anything but window. I need the following:

Command: z
ZOOM
Specify corner of window, enter a scale factor (nX or nXP), or
[All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Previous/Scale/Window] <real time>:

but I can only get the folowing:

Command: z
ZOOM
Specify corner of window, enter a scale factor (nX or nXP), or
[All/Center/Dynamic/Extents/Previous/Scale/Window] <w>:

Does anyone know how I can change this?

This shows up as real time for my version of AutoCAD 2002, what version are you using? Try your help menu and type in real time zoom.

Post again if you are still having trouble, we can probably do a macro for your situation.

What do you get when you enter .ZOOM

I'm running Arch Desktop 2000. Even when I choose the zoom realtime tool button I only get a zoom window. The command line will only show a "w" and will only allow a window when I should be able to choose other options.

What do you get when you enter .ZOOM at the command line (be sure to prefix the word ZOOM with the ".")

Hi,
if You want to make a new icon, then: "'_zoom;;".
I'm not sure, but maybe it will be successful.

Hey CADaver,

When I enter .zoom I get the realtime option! Thanks! Do you know why this was happening?

Somehow, somewhere, you're loading a routine that is re-defining the ZOOM command. Check what routines/functions are being loaded and chase down the culprit.
