Hi all

Just a speculative question, why can we not get a YNd6 vector group transformer. Is it because of the limb design and winding process used in YNd type transformers.

Any Yd transformer always has an odd-numbered vector group because of the inherent 30º phase shift in the Yd (or Dy) connection. You could use an inter-star (zigzag) winding in lieu of the Y and get a ZNd6 transformer.

You can have Yd1,Yd5,Yd7&Yd11 connections also Yy6, Dd6 & Dz6.
