I am looking for a place i can purchase sheets of yellow plastic, preferably acrylic, or something that has decent amount of compression strength. Need it to be .250" thick. NOT standared 1/4 (.236) but an actual .250".
And Google didn't give you (literally) thousands of places to choose from?
Most places are happy to do custom orders (for the right order size), but you're going to get some variance in thickness unless you intend to pay for the exacting processes.
Last time I checked, when someone sold me plastic listed as .250" thick, it was roughly 0.250" thick (within their listed tolerances)... no one I know of considers 0.236" standard.
i have found a lot of places (using google)that advertise '1/4"' then when i follow up, and actually contact someone, they say 'well the 1/4" is actually .236'
To be really accurate, you might need the next thickness up then machine it to size. Cell casting or calendering processes do not hold tolerances to less than a thou or two.

I imagine bound's issue is finding sheets closer to 0.250" (+/- tolerance) rather than 0.236" (+/- tolerance). The tolerancing doesn't seem to be the real issue here, just an accurate nominal figure.
