Using post builder I'm trying to develop the post processor(s) for our new Doosan Puma2600Y - single spindle, single turret, Y axis lathe. I understand the concept of linking post processors and this article
suggests using an XZC 4 axis mill turn post as the 'master' (Z head) whilst linking a simple two axis turn post and the mill turn side spindle post (X head). What I'm not grasping is why it isn't possible to use the Y axis with XZC mill turn post when the initial spindle axis is in the Z direction - it seems that it's only possible to mill using X and C axis interpolation using this post.
I've also tried creating a 4 axis mill post where the rotary table is in the XY plane, C axis, and post builder says this configuration is not possible.

Does anybody have any experience with creating this type of post who can offer some guidance with the above or anything else pertinent to developing this kind of post(s) please?
