ANY IDEA HOW THIS WORKS ON A FUEL PUMP ENVIRONMENT.THIS MAY BE VERY USEFUL SINCE THIS WORKS IN PARLLEL TO THE BRUSH AND NO CURRENT WILL FLOW THRU THE SUPPESSION DEVICE.

X2 and Y are classes of capacitor designed to be connected across phase-neutral (Class X2) or phase-ground & neutral-ground (Class Y). They are commonly found in an integrated package with three leads for connection.

Current will flow through the suppression device. That is how it works, by providing a low impedance shunt through which high frequency noise flows to ground.

What brush are you talking about? Motor brushgear?

Yes .It is for motor brush gear. The question is this will be soaked in the fuel. There are certain capacitors which alone will meet the requirement.Any idea whether X2Y devices will pass such tests before considering the development

I think you need to speak to the capacitor manufacturers regarding chemical resistance of their encapsulants. I think most epoxy sealed types will be ok, as will the majority of plastics, but you must verify this. Most fuels are solvents to a greater or lesser degree.
