Does it matter which bushing you tie to the hot phase on a WYE hi side? In a delta, doesn't it create a phase shift if you reverse some connections on the high side??

You phase relation ships between phases will be 60 deg, 60 deg, 240 deg. instead of 120 deg, 120 deg, 120 deg.
In delta you will have a 200% short circuit. Yes it matters.

What is the "hot" phase on a three-phase system? All three are "hot".

The "hot" phase I am speaking of is the 7200 volt to ground phase which one connects to each overhead transformer in the three phase bank. Sorry if I was unclear.

I didn't take the time to ask the question the right way when I wrote it. Should have proofed it.

The question is all three being overhead pots, normally we hook the up with the H1 bushing the hot phase and the H2 back to the neural, this is done for all three pots. If you were to hook up the H2 to the hot phase and H1 to neurtal on all three pots would the result be unusable. If so why??

It would not be unusable. You would just reverse the polarity on the secondary.

That was the answer I was looking for. Thank you guys for all the info.
