I am trying to save a file to a CD. The file keeps getting saved as write protected / read only. Even though, the option to open as read only is not selected. I can save it to my hard drive without it being write protected. Any help would be appreciated.

CD-R by it's nature is read-only.
Do you have CD-RW?

corvette63,

Try saving the file from the CD onto your harddrive and then "right-click" it. Go to "Properties" and uncheck Read-only. As IFRs has stated, CD-R's are read only. By saving it onto your harddrive you can edit it's properties and use it as you want.
