Good morning, I have a fully constraind feature, a hollow arrow with the letters FLO in it, basically a small flow stamp. It is on a plane and I would like to wrap it on a cylinder, but it fails everytime. I have used wrap with pure text and that works, but as soon as the arrow comes into the picture it fails. Am I doing something wrong here? Any ideas? I would eventually like to put this in a library, because I have to put this on hundred of parts. Thank you in advance for any help or ideas.

Mooload wasn't working when I tried, so I used yousendit.com

guest4k,

Try putting your sketched arrow and text on your CL plane. The wrap features worked for me when I did this.

Thanks again, but coincident8 in sketch7 is "suppose" to be to the CL. I tried a couple of things to get the text onto the CL, but then I can not get it back inside the arrow. I did take a clas in this, but those people don't know what they are doing. So I am learnign this on my own and with a little help from the people here.

Put your sketches on the center PLANE and constrain to the centerline.

Thanks, I will try it, but is there a way to move the sketches from one plne to another, without redrawing them?

Expand the feature tree, expand the wrap feature, RMB on the sketch, Edit sketch plane, pick the desired plane.

Ok, dumb question time, how do I contrain text to the CL? It still is not working.

There is an insertion point in the text (usually at the bottom LH corner) which can be dimensioned to.

Take a look at how this was done - you had some unnecessary construction geometry in there which may have been a source of confusion.

To your last question, CBL is correct, you can dimension to the sketch point. You had specified a sketch line in your text which controlled the position of the text.

Well, for what it is worth I did find the insertion point. Added some dimensionms and promptly got the old wrap bomb. Besides shooting it, and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Think I won't press my luck, so I will go out and have a beer to celebrate, the dang thing finally worked. For my next magic trick, I think I will try and put it in a library. Thanks for all of the help, it is deeply appreciated.
