I am attempting to wrap a shape around a cylinder whose axis is curving. I create a sweep that is made up of a circle following a simple arc. I then draw a sketch "above" this cylinder and wrap it onto the cylinder. The wrap and emboss works fine when I am wrapping on the outside(or convex) side of the bend. However when I try to wrap on the inside of the bend, the wrap just embosses the opposite side of the cylinder. I've tried cutting the bottom half of the cylinder off in this case, but then I get an error saying my sketch plane is not parallel to a tangent plane on the curve.
I've read plenty of posts saying that the wrap only works on a single curve, but it does work on the first scenario described. I've attached a picture of the successful wrap and the unsuccessful wrap. Does anyone know of a way to make this work?
I'm running Solidworks 2009 SP4.
Thanks for any info.
