In what situation does a gas compressor get flooded with lube oil the manner this seal is designed to prevent ?
The normal and cheapest hardware in the market consists of labyrinth seals or carbon ring seals .
Sealing air or separation gas is injected to prevent lube oil migration into dry gas seals.
Usually, there is also interlocks that prevent the oil pump to start if the sealing air conditions are not met or not turned on.
If the sealing air goes low during operation, alarms will be generated to alert the operator, so that they can take a decision to check and shutdown.
Will you include this design in your package and how to evaluate if it is worth it ?
