We are looking for a "cooky cutter" approach to oil refinery worst credible scenario (WCS) generation. Many used to be posted on the web. Does anyone have a quick approach or a copy of a typical WCS for a refinery?

heard of "Worst Credible Scenario". Is that something specific to the refining industry?

EPA still offers RMP*Comp which is free software for calculating WCS or ACS.
Yes, in Canada we have a voluntary programme for the chemical industry and they use the terms worst credible and worst imaginable scenarios. The criteria are slightly different from the EPA criteria. We also use Worst Case Scenario as a more general term. I will take a look at the RMP*Comp.
I'm currently working on a program that will calculate the WCS for any chemical, any amount. RMP*Comp will only calculate above the threshold quantity for only the regulated chemicals. I need to check into Canada's
Worst Credible Scenario and maybe add it to the program.
I am working on a study, and I would like to know more about the reactions of naphthenic acid. It has been proposed to neutralise it using calcium hydroxide. Is this feasible? If so, what is the stoichiometry of the reaction? How efficient is this?
