Hi Everyone, I have worked on a few wood frame over concrete podium structures and I always get push back from the contractors to post install anchors for the sill plates and chords. Their issue is coordinating the placement/location of the anchors. My issue is post installing anchors and the risk of cutting the top reinforcement of the concrete slab.

Has anyone else had similar situations and what was the solution?

I usually don't get pushback. They just post-install and hope nobody notices.

I've handled this in two different methods.

1) Telling them that if they want to change to post installed they must scan the slab and avoid hitting the bars. This can be done unless you're unlucky and have a bar parallel with the wall.

2) Indicating extra top bars beneath the SW locations with the anticipation that they hit a few bars
