I'm stepping into a project that I have no previous experience in. I am needed to build a low-cost, easy to implement system that, almost like a surveillance camera system, has multiple low quality streaming video as input, which has to be coded, compressed, and transmitted over a wireless connection.

I have been looking around and found programmable transmitters that interface with a microcontroller on one side and an antenna on the other, and non-programmable transmitters which has the same.

Basically what I want to know is what hardware to use as I have no idee of pros and cons of all the available products.

Any help will of course gratefully accepted :)

Use an 802.11b Access Point and web cameras. If you need Zoom and Pan, use video servers, they provide output to control them.
