When a preview shows up in WINDOWS our model file thumbnail looks fine - just as it was saved "on demand", but the drawing file thumbnail images sometimes shows the drawing (just like we want) and sometimes it shows what is in the model space of that drawing file - I can't find what controls that - what I assume controls it is greyed out.

How can I make the drawing image show properly in a WINDOWS thumbnail?

This is for how it shows up in WINDOWS only, not how it shows up in the NX history tree, as there are no issues with that.

I am on NX6

I am having the same problem jerry. Even with manually creating a preview on demand, the windows thumbnail remains as a model preview of the drawing file. We use the master model approach for our assemblies and drawings.

I have not resolved this but I am commiserating. Some members here have reinstalled and solved similar issues with thumbnails. I don't have the time for a reinstall at the moment so I can't verify that it is a solution. Wish I could be of more help.
