Windows NT 4.0 Startup problem 1

I have been unable to figure this one out so I would like to know if anyone can help.

I current run Windows NT 4.0 on a HP Visualize workstation.

I had loaded a few programs on it to try them out and then removed them. I used the supplied installation program, and then used the unistall.

My problem is that when I start up the machine, it still tries to find the programs, at least that's what I think it is doing. I would get an error saying that file/folder could not be found. I put an empty folder named for what the error said, and now the folder opens up every time I startup. I have been searching around, but I can't find were the comand to open these folders is stored.

I have tried autoexec.NT, config.NT, and the other folders that were suggested on the sites that I searched.

If anyone has every had to deal with this please let me know how to stop it.

Two places to check:

1. The Startup Folder (Start > Programs > Startup)
2. The Registry:
Location 1:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Location 2:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

There is probably a key in the registry that is trying to load the program on startup.

If u could rememb the program's name, prees <Start> <Execute> 'n type Regedit <Enter>.
Select <Search> from Edit menu then <Enter>.
When found, press <Suppr>;
and so on.

The registry seems to be were it was coming from. I found most of the problem, but there is still one program trying to load. It actual just opens a directory. I can live with one, for now.

Thanks for all the help. Working in NT is much different then the older Windows systems I am used to and I would have never gotten the registry without the advice.
