Wind uplift on the flat roof - C&C

Hello everyone,

I am currently designing roof cover layers on the flat concrete roof. To get the uplift acting on the roof layers (C&C), can I use the ASD combination from ASCE 7-10: 0.6D + 0.6W ?
Or should I go with "1.0*W" value of wind uplift, since the dead load (concrete roof) doesn't really hold the roof layers down (adhesive does)?

Thank you in advance,

You should check all applicable load combinations whether they are LRFD or ASD.

Regarding the dead load, in this case I would use the minimum of the roof weight or the adhesive strength. For example if you have a 6" slab (75 psf assuming normal weight) but the adhesive strength is 10 psf then I would use a 10 psf dead load. I would also include the weight of the covers. So basically the adhesive strength + weight of the covers has to be more than the uplift force.
