wind post lateral support

Attached is a sketch (plan view) of a base of a mainframe in a proposed PMB. The is a wind post in close proximity to the frame col. The lateral load at the base is about 7 kips. I would prefer to have a pile under the wind post but obviously there in room for it. I cooked up the attached detail and wonder if anyone has any comment.

So what is the proposed detail? Do you intend to connect the wind column to the main column? Or is the wind column connected to the slab or whatever? What takes the reactions to the ground?

I have added a section to show the pile cap. The wind post is connected to the pile cap which is cantilevered off the pile.

7kips isn't a crazy amount of base shear, especially for a reinforced concrete pile cap. Do you have a geotech doing the pile design? This would be the more critical part of the design, combined uplift and shear acting simultaneous.

How big is the moment at the base of the Wind Post? 7 kips * the height of the Wind Post at the connect to the main frame. I have only done this with a fixed base foundation which usually involves a very big block of concrete under the mainframe and Windpost.

We are using cast in place concrete piles 16” to 20” dia 20 ft deep under the main frames. I would like to have a pile under the Wind post but there they are too close to the main frame. We need a min of 3 ft separation b between pules. The moment at the base of the wind post is 900 in K.

Pinned main column and fixed wind column? Isn't the wind column supported at the top?

If the pile and cap can take the reactions from the wind column base then it appears reasonable. I would get an L-Pile run for the applied loads.
