Hello,

I would like to calculate the necessary section of the support for my 1.2 meter offset satellite dish and for that I need to know how to calculate the "wind resistance" (wind load) of the dish. If I would be able to calculate this "wind resistance", I would use the available datas for the local wind speed in order to calculate the necessary resistance of the vertical support of the dish. However, I couldn't find any informations concerning the calculation of the "wind resistance" coefficient of a satellite dish and I have also lost the original specifications sheet, where (I suppose) that information was available. Could somebody give me a hint about this?

Thanks a lot in advance!

You could use a code calculation for a "sign". Do not know where you are located - but something in the 20-25 psf range would probably be more than adequate.

Do some calcs and then fatten it up a bit. You don't want it sailing into our neighbor's plate glass window. Actaully, your connections to roof or wall might be a bit more difficult
