I have a design in which 2 buildings in relation to each other my compress and therefore amplify wind speed. Is there any resource to confirm or tell me more about this effect.
Also, how tall must the building be before the compression of the atmosphere prevents an updraft? These buildings are 16 feet tall, do I even need to worry about it? If not, why not?
What I am talking about is the Venturi Effect, or tunnel effect. These buildings are not enclosed at the top, and what I need to know is:
At what elevation would the Atmospheric pressure prevent air from lifting over the building.
The Engineering Research Center at Colorado State is one of the premier wind engineering research facilities in the world. I worked at the lab as an undergraduate assistant and highly recommend forwarding your question there.
