Wide-dgn or dgn2 standards

Does anyone have any information on the new dgn file structure that arrived with version 8? I have found plenty of resources for the earlier dgn, but nothing for the new 'wide-dgn' or 'dgn2.'
Any link or information would be great.
Bentley did not seal off the file structure information did they?
